The vision behind the DAILY collection

The vision behind the DAILY collection

When I was a little girl, I always wanted to wear my mom’s heels and her sexy slacks. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do when I was that young, but I knew I loved fashion and wanted a store of my own one day. Whatever that future looked like, I pictured myself in a sexy business look with a pointed-toe heel.

I wanted to be a confident, independent woman.

And somewhere along the way, I became that girl in the blazer.

The girl building her own business, making decisions, taking chances and figuring things out as she goes. I still have moments when I catch myself getting dressed and think about the little girl trying on her mom’s shoes. She would be so excited about this.

That feeling is a big part of why I created the Daily Collection.

What power dressing means to me

I’ve always loved putting on an outfit and standing a little taller. You look in the mirror, adjust your blazer, add your jewelry and think, okay, let’s go.

When I think about power dressing, I think about how you feel walking into a room. Being comfortable enough to pay attention to the conversation. Feeling ready to introduce yourself, share your idea or ask for what you want.

A great outfit can give you that little push. And sometimes, especially on the days when you’re figuring things out as you go, that matters.

For me, a blazer has always had that effect. But now that I’m living the life I used to imagine, I also know I need to move, sit comfortably, run around and enjoy my day. Looking good and feeling good have to work together.

The vision behind Daily

It started with the Daily Wide Leg Pant.

I had never sold something that kept going out of stock like that before. That response made me want to build on it and create more pieces you could reach for just as often.

From there, the vision grew into a collection: blazers, vests, tops and more pieces you could mix together and wear throughout your day. I wanted that sexy business look I’d loved since childhood to fit the way I actually live—and the way you live, too.

I love a matching set. There’s something so satisfying about putting one on and having the whole look come together. But I wanted each piece to have a life of its own, too.

Wear the vest with your favorite denim. Throw the blazer over a simple tank. Take the trousers from a workday to drinks by changing your shoes and adding a pair of earrings. Pack a few pieces and find different ways to wear them throughout the trip.

That’s the kind of wardrobe I want to build: pieces you know, love and actually wear again and again throughout the week.

The neutral colors give you a starting point. The seasonal colors give you a chance to try something new. You get to decide what the combination looks like.

Who is the Daily Woman?

I picture the Daily Woman having a full life, with different sides of herself she wants to show.

She might be heading to a meeting, opening her own business, studying for something she cares about or making time for dinner with her friends. Some mornings she has the outfit planned. Other mornings she’s getting dressed five minutes before she needs to leave.

She has goals. She has things she’s still learning. She wants to feel confident, but she doesn’t wake up feeling that way every single day.

I relate to her.

I don’t always wake up feeling like that put-together girl in the blazer. But I do try every day, and sometimes a blazer and a statement earring do the trick. They give me a little confidence to get out the door and get going, even when I’m still figuring things out.

Building AIROTCIV has meant learning as I go, taking chances and showing up without having all the answers. I’ve grown into that girl through the work, the mistakes and the moments when I decided to trust myself.

That’s who I think about when I work on Daily. The woman becoming everything she knows she can be, while still living and enjoying the life she has right now—and definitely meeting the girls for a happy hour cocktail on a Thursday after work.

Make it yours

My favorite part is seeing how you wear it.

Maybe you button the vest all the way up and wear the full set. Maybe you leave the blazer open, roll the sleeves and add a stack of bracelets. Or cinch a belt around your waist over the blazer and add a statement earring. Maybe you even throw it over your athleisure look because you know you’re just that girl!

Sneakers during the day, pointed-toe heels later. There are so many ways to make these pieces feel like you.

I want you to have fun with it. Wear the color you keep looking at. Try the combination you haven’t tried before. Add the earrings, even if your plans are ordinary.

The Daily Collection is my invitation to get dressed for your life—all the work, the plans, the everyday moments and the good times in between.

And if you’ve ever pictured a future version of yourself, I hope you give yourself a moment to notice how much of her you’ve already become.

Here’s to the Daily Woman. I can’t wait to see where you take it.

What’s your version of “that girl in the blazer”? Is there an outfit or a piece you put on that instantly makes you feel more confident? Tell me below—I want to hear yours.

xx, Victoria
